Your Role as a Mentor
Once you are paired with a client, you will function as a type of medical chaperone, helping individuals understand their diagnosis and treatment plan, providing emotional support before, during and after procedures, and in recovery.* The duration of the relationship is up to you. You may cancel your association with individuals at any time. We hope you will develop a friendship with your clients and find fulfillment in using your expertise to help people who need your help.
*Mentors shall not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, recommend or determine courses of treatment, perform clinical procedures, or otherwise provide medical care or medical advice. All medical decisions remain solely with the Client and the Client’s treating providers.
