What are the fees?
Fees are set based on a number of factors, including the services needed and the amount of skill you would like your mentor to have. Fees will be determined by the mentor.
Is the service in-person or online?
We offer a hybrid model, offering both in-person and virtual support, specializing in in-person, with the human touch to build trust and empathy. Mentors can specify whether they want to do provide care in person, virtual or both.
Can I have more than one mentor?
Yes! You can choose from multiple mentors to manage different aspects of your health.
Is this service just for senior citizens?
No! Any adult 18 or over.
What types of health conditions would lead an individual to hire a mentor?
Assistance with appointments, medication management, complex treatments, surgeries, chronic conditions that require ongoing support.
What types of health conditions are not a good fit for this service?
Mental conditions, dementia, abortions.
How does this service help my family?
Mentors can communicate with the families and designated contacts so that family members don't have to travel or take time off work to care for their loved one.
Will mentors provide other services like medication pickup, help with bathing, dressing?
Mentors do not provide home care services like helping individuals bathe, dress, prepare meals, etc. Their goals are to provide medical navigation and emotional support. For additional home care assistance review our list of partners who provide community resources.
Does this service replace my doctor?
Mentors are not intended to replace your medical care. Your doctors and surgeons will provide your direct care. Mentors support you as the client and can help bridge the care gap.
Can't I just use AI tools instead of mentors?
Our mentors provide more than just factual information. They get to know your unique situation and can provide emotional support to you and your family. The human touch is valuable.
What about HIPAA rules?
Mentors are required to comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. More details will be added at a later date.
How can I be sure mentors are qualified?
All mentors must pass a rigorous vetting process, including background checks, credentials checks, Illinois Department of Professional Regulation review, ensuring that they meet professional and ethical standards set by the healthcare industry and our company.
How do I cancel my mentor?
Can mentors cut ties with clients?
Yes. Mentors can refuse an appointment and cancel his or her affiliation with clients at any time.
How are mentors engaged by clients?
Clients select a mentor of his/her choice. The client through the company's digital platform contact the mentor he/she has selected. The individual describes the services requested, and if the client the accepts the mentor's fee proposal, then a written agreement between the client and mentor must be completed.
MyCare Mentors are qualified health care professionals who serve exclusively as guides to help clients understand the medical information, recommendations, and treatment plans provided by their physicians and other licensed providers. These professionals act as interpreters of medical terminology and care pathways; they do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or provide medical care in any form.
